Salcon Berhad was crowned winner of the Green Leadership Award at the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) 2013 Southeast Asia at in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on 29 June.
The award was presented by Enterprise Asia, a non-governmental organisation for entrepreneurship for Salcon’s effort in environmental education and conservation programme through the ‘Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational Programme’.
The Programme is organised by Salcon Berhad in collaboration with Water Watch Penang (WWP) and Malaysia Water Partnership (MyWP). It emphasizes on self-observation and exploration, which leads to stimulation of the children’s interest, initiative, experimentation, discovery, play and imagination and most importantly, nurture the idea of conserving rivers to future generations to help minimize the environmental footprints.
Salcon was awarded Best Structured Trade Deal – Malaysia for 60 million Ringgit structured term loan by The Asset Triple A Award, Asia`s defining recognition for excellence in the industry.
Standard Chartered Bank is the underwriter, structuring and hedging bank of the term loan. The judging panels comprising The Asset`s Board of Editors who collectively have several decades` worth of evaluating industry awards in Asia.
Salcon Berhad won the Asiawater Management Excellence Award which was held in conjunction with the ASIAWATER 2010 Expo & Conference.
The award was received in recognition of the company’s management excellence and leadership in the industry, and having brought significant contribution to the advancement of the water and wastewater industry in Malaysia. As a leader in the water and wastewater industry, Salcon offers value-added services in the investment, design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants and ancillary facilities.
Salcon Berhad was awarded the 2010 Malaysian Excellence Awards – Water Treatment Company of the Year, presented by the renowned International Research Company, Frost and Sullivan.
Salcon clinched the top spot in the Environment and Building Technologies Categories where the company was recognised as a specialist in mechanical and electrical works – which encompass the intricate engineering design and build of water treatment plants. The judging panel of leading industry analysts highlighted that over the years, Salcon has strengthened its position in Malaysia as the leading water engineering designer and contractor, and has achieved an industry leading growth rate.
