FTSE Russell (the trading name of FTSE International Limited and Frank Russell Company) confirms that Salcon Berhad has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series for consecutive 8 years since 2015. Created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent environmental, social and governance criteria, and are positioned to capitalise on the benefits of responsible business practice.
Salcon was conferred the “IEM Award for Contribution to Engineering Industry in Malaysia 2015 – Water and Wastewater Engineering” for its contribution to the engineering industry in Malaysia. The Company is proud to have built a strong foothold and solid reputation in the water and wastewater market throughout the years.
The award was presented by Dato’ Ir. Lim Chow Hock, president of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) during the 56th IEM Annual Dinner & Awards Night on 18th April 2015.
Salcon has been awarded the Best Site Construction Management under the category of ‘Projek Pembinaan Sistem Rangkaian Paip Pembetungan bernilai melebihi RM100 juta’ by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pembetungan (JPP).
The award and recognition for best construction site management for Package D55 in Klang is testament of Salcon’s excellence in construction management.
Package D55 entails the carrying out of upgrading works of the sewerage services involving the laying of up to 21 kilometers of new sewer and the decommissioning of 72 sewage treatment plants including 44 communal septic tanks in Klang.
The award was presented by YB Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water during the ‘Malam Amal Mesra’ organized by JPP – Yayasan Hijau on 23rd November 2014.
Salcon Berhad was awarded the Honorable Mention Award (Educational Service Award category) at the Asia-Pacific Enterprises Leadership Awards (APELA) 2013 in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on 14 March 2013.
This prestigious accolade by Asia-Pacific Enterprises Cooperation is in recognition of Salcon`s contribution towards educational development that enriches local communities through the ‘Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational Programme’.
The Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational programme is organised by Salcon Berhad in collaboration with Water Watch Penang (WWP) and Malaysia Water Partnership (MyWP) and aims to provide a platform for school-going children to learn the value of our precious water resources via hands-on activities at the river such as physical water quality testing, chemical and biological water testing, river clean-up and evaluation.
Salcon was awarded the Best Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Deal for 2013 by The Edge Malaysia, an influential and respected business publication in Malaysia.
The award is a recognition of Salcon’s timely exit from China which saw the Group disposing of its China assets for RMB 955 million (approximately RM518.28 million). The award takes into consideration the size of the transaction, benefits to its minority shareholders and performance of the Group after the completion.
