Salcon Berhad was one of the award recipients of the CSR Malaysia Awards 2017 for pioneering Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the past year.
The company was recognised for making strides in promoting the importance of good quality water supplies in sustaining a community and its development under its flagship CSR programme, Salcon Smart Water Programme.
The award was presented by YB Dato’ Sri Rohani Abdul Karim, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.
Salcon has won Asia’s Best CSR Communication within Annual Report award at the 2016 Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards on 28 November in Singapore. The award was presented by H.E. Mr. Håkan Jevrell, Swedish Ambassador in Singapore at the British High Commission Singapore.
Salcon’s win at ASRA 2016 reflects the company’s leadership in sustainability reporting and a commitment to long term value creation for all stakeholders. Effective communication of Salcon’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and efforts is important to facilitate, support and drive corporate and societal value as well as to improve awareness of the risks and opportunities connected to sustainability.
FTSE Russell (the trading name of FTSE International Limited and Frank Russell Company) confirms that Salcon Berhad has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria, and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series for consecutive 8 years since 2015. Created by the global index provider FTSE Russell, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent environmental, social and governance criteria, and are positioned to capitalise on the benefits of responsible business practice.
Salcon Berhad was awarded the Honorable Mention Award (Educational Service Award category) at the Asia-Pacific Enterprises Leadership Awards (APELA) 2013 in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on 14 March 2013.
This prestigious accolade by Asia-Pacific Enterprises Cooperation is in recognition of Salcon`s contribution towards educational development that enriches local communities through the ‘Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational Programme’.
The Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational programme is organised by Salcon Berhad in collaboration with Water Watch Penang (WWP) and Malaysia Water Partnership (MyWP) and aims to provide a platform for school-going children to learn the value of our precious water resources via hands-on activities at the river such as physical water quality testing, chemical and biological water testing, river clean-up and evaluation.
Salcon Berhad was crowned winner of the Green Leadership Award at the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) 2013 Southeast Asia at in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on 29 June.
The award was presented by Enterprise Asia, a non-governmental organisation for entrepreneurship for Salcon’s effort in environmental education and conservation programme through the ‘Salcon River and Water Awareness Educational Programme’.
The Programme is organised by Salcon Berhad in collaboration with Water Watch Penang (WWP) and Malaysia Water Partnership (MyWP). It emphasizes on self-observation and exploration, which leads to stimulation of the children’s interest, initiative, experimentation, discovery, play and imagination and most importantly, nurture the idea of conserving rivers to future generations to help minimize the environmental footprints.
