Assistant Manager – Accounts

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Accounts to oversee the accounting functions of our Healthcare entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, audit and tax coordination, budgeting, financial process improvements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review monthly accounts closing performed by the subordinate.
  • Coordinate and act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax agents.
  • Monitor audit and tax engagements to ensure statutory and internal reporting deadlines are met.
  • Respond promptly to audit and tax-related queries.
  • Review and improve finance processes, including sales and purchasing cycles.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Healthcare division.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and coordinate the annual budgeting process.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties and projects assigned by Management.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, MIA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Audit background is preferred.
  • Experience in the retail and/or healthcare industry will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), full set of accounts, and taxation.
  • Experience with Microsoft GP, SQL Accounting Software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive team player with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
