Salcon Wins RM39.8 Million Langat 2 Pipe Installation Project

SUBANG JAYA, 23 April 2019 – Salcon Berhad today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Berhad, has been awarded the Package 15(4)- Kerja-kerja penyambungan ke system sediada dan memasang paip jenis keluli lembut (Mild Steel) valued at RM39.8 million from Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB).

The project forms part of the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant and Water Reticulation System in Selangor Darul Ehsan/Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and comprises the supply and installation of Mild Steel pipes from AU3 reservoir to the existing reticulation system at Jalan Jelatek and Jalan Enggang. The mild steel pipe sizes range from 900mm to 1,600 mm diameters. The contract is scheduled for completion on 15 May 2020.

Besides the Package 15 (4) project, Salcon also recently won the contract for the the Telibong 2 Water Treatment Plant valued at RM124,696,000 in March 2019.

“These 2 projects will boost Salcon's order book to RM510 million and we look forward to more positive news flows in the coming months.,” said Ir Ooi Cheng Swee, Chief Operating Officer of Salcon.

These projects are expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the Group. Currently the Group has tendered for RM1.8 billion worth of water and wastewater projects, both locally and overseas in Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
