Salcon Volunteers Celebrate Malaysia Day With Special Needs Children At Pusat Jagaan Dan Latihan Insan Istimewa IMC

Puchong, 3 September 2022 – 19 volunteers from Salcon Berhad spread patriotism cheer and spent quality time with over 30 special needs children from Pusat Jagaan & Latihan Insan Istimewa IMC in Puchong today as part of the company’s ‘Salcon Cares’ Programme.

The half day event was filled with laughter and full of smiles during the various activities carried out with the children such as showing the love to our nation during the Jalur Gemilang craft & art activity, decorating the center with Malaysia flags and many more.

The residents of the center show their creative side by participating in finger painting of Jalur Gemilang using acrylic paint on A3 size canvas which was later hung at the center to demonstrate their spirit of patriotism. The volunteers then helped to do housekeeping around the center and decorate it with Malaysia flags to get them ready for the Malaysia Day on 16th September 2022.

After the activities, residents of the home were given Malaysia flags, whilst donations and groceries were handed over to Ms Raaginee Shaleesh, the founder and principal IMC training center. The donations and in-kind were collected from the staff, and the company matched the final value dollar-for-dollar to buy essential groceries ranging from food, drinks and toiletries based on the home’s wish list.

“It is a real joy to spend time with these children, we hope that our effort in giving back to the community will help to spur the spirit of caring and to appreciate the people around us regardless of the different abilities that they have. Being disabled should not stop the community from sharing their spirit of patriotism and love for country, that is the true meaning of being Malaysian,” says Ms. Chern Meng Gaik, General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Salcon Berhad.

The Salcon Cares programme is a long-term effort and strategic initiative by the company to generate positive impacts to the community an its stakeholders.
