Salcon 14th Blood Donation Drive Collected 86 Pints of Blood

SUBANG JAYA, 26 JUNE 2023 – Salcon Berhad is proud to announce the return of its highly anticipated annual Blood Donation Campaign, held in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara (PDN) and Assunta Hospital. The campaign, themed "Give Blood and Keep the World Beating," is aimed to address the growing shortage of blood supply nationwide and reaffirm Salcon's dedication to community welfare. The event took place on 23rd June 2023 as part of the Salcon Community Health Fair, hosted at Summit USJ Mall.

The Blood Donation Campaign, which also coincided with its two-week Safety & Health Campaign, serves as an opportunity to educate the local community on health issues, and the importance of practicing a healthy lifestyle. Various healthcare institutions, including Assunta Hospital, Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA), and Alzheimer's Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM), provided free health screenings and counseling services.

This year's blood donation drive saw an impressive turnout, with 86 pints of blood collected through the generous contributions of 134 volunteers registered. These donations have the potential to save the lives of 261 individuals in need. Reflecting on the campaign's success, Ms Chern Meng Gaik, General Manager - Corporate of Salcon Berhad, said, "We take pride in consistently contributing to the community through our various CSR initiatives. Our enduring partnership with Pusat Darah Negara for the past 14 years underscores our commitment to this important cause which serves as an excellent platform to promote public health awareness while replenishing our local blood bank.”

As a company dedicated to prioritizing safety and health at the workplace, the company recognizes the need for continuous improvements to foster a healthy and safe working environment especially with its recent procurement of two new projects. AIS Small Hydro and Langat P3 earlier this year.  The company looks to mitigate any possible safety and health threats with the oncoming works to ensure the well-being of its employees and the surrounding communities.
