Salcon has the capability to implement new technologies and a recent sample of this is the
use of Lamella Plate Technology in the 45 Mld Kuala Jelai Water Treatment Plant in Negeri Sembilan in 2002.
The Lamella System uses a series of parallel plates to clarify water. As flocculated water enters
the individual cells of the Lamella plates, flocs are separated and accumulated on the plates,
which slides down to the bottom of the tank and will be removed periodically. The Lamella system
offers significant advantages due to its ability to withstand changes in raw water quality and
freshen high turbid water.
