Since its inception in April 1974, Salcon has successfully completed more than 500 water treatment projects in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and China. In recent years, Salcon has made significant strides in the China market. Shandong Changle Salcon, has successfully completed a 20 MLD water treatment plant in Changle, Weifang Municipality, Shandong Province. Chenggong Salcon is currently constructing a 20MLD water treatment plant (upgradeable to 60 MLD) in Chenggong, Kunming city. In Vietnam, a 100 MLD water treatment plant was successfully completed in Ho Chi Minh city on Build, Operate and Transfer basis.

In wastewater and sewerage treatment, Salcon, via its subsidiary Envitech Sdn Bhd (Envitech) has completed more than 250 projects. One of the major projects undertaken by Envitech includes the construction of a sewerage treatment plant at Bukit Beruntung, Selangor with a population equivalent (PE) of 200,000 persons using the Intermittently Decanted Extended Aeration (IDEA) system. Besides design and construction of sewerage treatment plants, Envitech also engages in upgrading and refurbishment works.

As a leader in this industry, Salcon envisions itself to be in the forefront of future projects in other parts of Asia and is currently looking for other countries in the region, which has tremendous growth for expansion.
