Salcon Group's business began in 1974 when Salcon Engineering Sdn Bhd (SESB) was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 3rd April 1974 as a private limited company. Its main stream business comprised water treatment for palm oil mills, domestic water supply for plantation workers and swimming pools as well as selling engineering equipment to the plantation and building service industries. |

Salcon Engineering Sdn Bhd (SESB) streamlined its activities and operations to focus on providing value-added services in water facilities design & engineering, operation, maintenance and investing in privatized projects in palm oil industries. |

Salcon was awarded the ISO9001:2000 quality standards on November 11, 1999 by the Bureau Veritas Certification for the design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants. This is another milestone achievement for Salcon and demonstrates its commitment to guarantee quality standards throughout its business operations. |

On 12 January 2001 , Salcon Engineering Sdn Bhd (SESB) converted to a public limited company and assumed its current name of Salcon Engineering Berhad (SEB). Later, SEB undertook larger turnkey projects to build water treatment plants and palm oil mills for the Public Works Department, various municipalities and palm oil mills for agro-based industries. |

In March 2002, SEB expanded into the wastewater and sewage industry with the acquisition of Envitech Sdn Bhd.
Staying true to Salcon's environmental philosophy "Environmental Conservation through Sustainable Development", Salcon was also awarded the ISO14001: 1996 certification on November 27, 2002 by the Bureau Veritas Certification for its commitment to the prevention of pollution and continuous improvement of environmental performance throughout its business operations. |

Salcon Berhad (Salcon) was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 24th February 2003 and was successfully listed on the Main Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now know as Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad). Trading of Salcon shares commenced on September 3, 2003 . |

In June 2005, the Board of Salcon approved the change in the financial year end from July 31 to December 31 for administrative and financial reporting purposes. At the same time, Naga Muhibbah Sdn Bhd emerged as the major shareholder of Salcon.
Salcon also expanded into the China market securing two new water and one wastewater concession in Shandong and Yunnan provinces through its investment holding companies in Hong Kong . |

Salcon now owns 5 water and wastewater concessions in China with a daily treatment capacity of approximately 600,000m3/day. |

| 2007 |
Salcon clinched the largest sewerage project in its history, for the design and construction of the Kota Kinabalu Sewage System, valued at RM183 million, which will improve the overall sewerage system in the City of Kota Kinabalu . |

| 2008 |
Salcon revenue climbed 88% to RM253 million. Notable projects secured during the period include the Kelantan Non Revenue Water Project, Dong Tam project in Vietnam and Kelani Right Bank project in Sri Lanka .
Reflecting Salcon's commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, customers, contractors, visitors and the community in all its business operations, Salcon was awarded the OHSAS 18001:1999 on April 26, 2008 (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series) which is accredited by Bureau Veritas Certification.

Salcon sealed its seventh concession in China following the award of a 30-year concession by the municipal government of Yizheng to its joint-venture (JV) company Jiangsu Salcon Water & Environmental Development Co Ltd. The concession relates to the transfer of treated water in the central region of Yizheng city.

Salcon is awarded Asiawater Management Excellence Award during the ASIAWATER 2010 Expo & Conference and the 2010 Malaysian Excellence Awards - Water Treatment Company of the Year by the renowned International Research Company, Frost and Sullivan. These two prominent awards serve to further emphasize its pivotal role in the water and wastewater industry.
Salcon won its eighth concession in China after acquiring 100% of Yizheng Rong Xing Wastewater Treatment Company Limited via its joint-venture (JV) company, Jiangsu Salcon Water & Environment Development Co. Ltd (JSWED).
Salcon signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement with Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund Pte Ltd (EMIF) to jointly invest, operate and manage the growing water and wastewater infrastructure sector in the People's Republic of China (PRC). The exercise involves disposal of 40% shareholdings in Salcon Water (Asia) Limited by Salcon to EMIF for a purchase consideration of RMB238.0 million.

| 2011 |
Salcon secured its first industrial wastewater concession in China for a 30-year concession period to acquire, upgrade, operate and maintain the Southeast Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
To date, Salcon owns and operates 7 water, 2 wastewater and 1 industrial wastewater concessions around China and Vietnam.
