Lee Choon Weng
General Manager – Water Resources
Graduated from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada with high distinction, majoring in Civil Engineering, Lee Choon Weng started his career in1982 as a design engineer in the water supply department of the Malaysian Public Works Department.
He was first involved in Non-Revenue Water (NRW) works as an NRW engineer in the first pioneer NRW pilot project in the State of Selangor, Malaysia in 1987 in conjunction with John Taylor and subsequently Acer Consultants of England.
Lee Choon Weng has vast experience in NRW engineering and water supply construction works including treatment plants, raw water intakes, reservoirs and distribution pipelines of all sizes, pipe replacement and rehabilitation using various techniques. He held various positions prior to joining Salcon and was involved in numerous major NRW projects in the country, such as the National NRW Study and System rehabilitation financed by Asia Development Bank (ADB).
Major construction works include the largest man-made Wetlands project treating polluted incoming water from 3 rivers to achieve Class 2B raw water quality for the manmade main lake in Putrajaya, the new administration center of the Government of Malaysia.
