In Wastewater treatment, SALCON provides solutions for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Vacuum sewage collection system - a self-cleansing, low maintenance and blockage-free system.
Wastewater collected from the household is discharged by gravity to the collection chamber. When the sewage rises to the predetermined level, the Redivac interface valve opens and a slug of sewage is rapidly forced into the vacuum sewer .
In the vacuum vessel, when sewage reaches the pump cut-in level, the sewage discharge pump transfers sewage to the receiving manhole or sewage treatment plant.
The distinctive advantages of vacuum sewers over conventional gravity systems are: vacuum sewers buried at shallow depths, minimum disruption to the environment, fast installation, no manholes required for change of direction or level, no infiltration which means low treatment cost, no exfiltration which means no contamination, and possibility of phased installation. |
